Indian Bengali Association in Montreal was established way back in the year 1975 when immigration was still a new concept. In those days, the Association’s primary objective was to celebrate and hold on to their cultural roots. Since then, multiple generations have been working together to ensure that we never lose sight of that goal. Finally in the year 2010, the organization officially adopted the name ‘Indian Bengali Association of Montreal’ in short IBAM. The primary mission of IBAM is to stay true to our cultural identity. IBAM ensures that we always remember our bond, our culture and the traditions we left behind. Every year IBAM celebrates Durga Puja, the greatest festival of Bengal with utmost devotion and dedication. The association also arranges various other socio-cultural and religious events throughout the year to entertain and engage the creative, enthusiastic Indian Diaspora. Our Association is a non-profit entity registered with the provincial government.
